CLASS FEATURES

All of the following are alratheen class features.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Alratheen are proficient with all simple and martial weapons, spiked chains, with all types of armor (heavy, medium, and light), and with shields (except tower shields).

Increased Reach (Ex): At 2nd level, an alratheen is able to stretch in such a way as to increase its reach. The alratheen’s reach is 1 size category greater than its physical size. A Small alratheen retains a reach of 5 feet. A Medium alratheen gains a reach of 10 feet. A Large alratheen gains a reach of 15 feet.

Memory of the Divine (Su): At 3rd level, the alratheen can draw upon its connection to the greater whole of Terminus to cast divine spells. Once per day, the alratheen can spontaneously cast a single divine spell as if the alratheen were a cleric of 1/2 its character level. The alratheen does not require any components, and may cast any spell from the spell list for a cleric of the appropriate level.

Memory of Pain (Su): At 2nd level, the alratheen can channel the memory of pain it has endured directly into the nervous system of another creature. On a successful touch attack, the alratheen can inflict non-lethal damage on the creature. The creature must make a successful Will save versus a Mind-Affecting attack. The DC to resist the effect is 10 + alratheen level + Intelligence modifier. On a successful save, no damage is inflicted, and the attack is spent for the day. On a failed save, the number of points of non-lethal damage dealt is equal to the points of lethal damage the alratheen has suffered in a number of immediately preceding rounds equal to 1 + Intelligence modifier (minimum 1 round).

Size Increase (Ex): At 1st level, the alratheen’s size increases from Small to Medium. The alratheen’s height increases to a range of 6 to 7 feet. Its weight increases to a range of 150 to 250 pounds. The alratheen no longer gains any benefits or penalties due to size. Its base land speed increases to 30 feet. As a quadruped, its speed remains 40 feet. Its climb speed increases to 30 feet. Its quadruped carrying capacity carrying capacity is 1-1/2 times that of a bipedal Medium character.

At 3rd level, the alratheen’s size increases from Medium to Large. The alratheen’s height increases to a range of 12 to 14 feet. Its weight increases to a range of 800 to 900 pounds. The alratheen incurs a -1 penalty to Armor Class and a -4 penalty on Hide checks, but it can use larger weapons than humans use. Its carrying capacity is twice that of a Medium character. Its base land speed increases to 40 feet. As a quadruped, its speed increases to 50 feet. Its climb speed increases to 40 feet. Its quadruped carrying capacity carrying capacity is 3 times that of a bipedal Medium character.

Uncanny Dodge (Ex): At 2nd level, an alratheen retains its Dexterity bonus to AC (if any) even if it is caught flat-footed or struck by an invisible attacker. However, it still loses its Dexterity bonus to AC if immobilized. If an alratheen already has uncanny dodge from a different class, it automatically gains improved uncanny dodge (see below) instead.

Improved Uncanny Dodge (Ex): The alratheen can no longer be flanked. This defense denies a rogue the ability to sneak attack the alratheen by flanking it, unless the attacker has at least four more rogue levels than the target has alratheen character levels. If a character already has uncanny dodge (see above) from a second class, the character automatically gains improved uncanny dodge instead, and the levels from the classes that grant uncanny dodge stack to determine the minimum level a rogue must be to flank the character.
