Rend Armor [Critical]
Your critical strike rips the armor off your opponent.
Prerequisites: Dex 15, Int 13, Combat Expertise, Multiple Strikes, Two Weapon Fighting, Weapon Focus (Special*)
Benefit: When attacking with two weapons (or a double weapon) and you confirm a critical hit you may forgo the extra damage to rend the opponent’s armor for 1d4 points of AC damage. The damage is set for a Medium weapon and will scale appropriately with the weapon size. A weapon with a x3 critical multiplier does an additional point of AC damage and a x4 critical multiplier deals two additional points of AC damage. Magical armor automatically suffers ½ damage from this attack. Armor that is reduced to 0 AC is destroyed and can not be repaired.
- Rend Armor can be learned with any light weapon with a hooked end or tearing or a double weapon that could be used for ripping. A “rend” is a ripping action, not a slashing, piercing or bludgeoning action and as such will need some adjudication by your game master. Several weapons that could be used for ripping include hand axes, sickles and bang nakh.
