This hidden elf village is kept a secret except to trusted merchants who supply the citizens with the few luxuries they prefer to import from the outside world. Otherwise, the elves wish for none to know their location, so that they cannot be raided or invaded.

Politics: Lady Aullia rules over the elves of this town with an acknowledged wisdom and fairness. However, she spends most of her time adjudicating feuds, exploring the wonders of arcane magic, and using her spells to keep the village safe from the prying eyes of drow wizards that sometimes sneak up through nearby caverns to search for elvish victims to enslave. Thus, the keeping of order from day to day is left up to the sheriff, Janar.

Rumors: Many outside the village wonder strongly at what the elves within might be hiding, as secretive as they are. A string of missing hunters and explorers in the region of the village have led some to suspect at least some of the elves have turned murderously evil, while others whisper that some elves are fond of taking humans as magically charmed lovers. Both rumors have a bit of truth to them, as unforgiving xenophobia and misguided manipulation have found their way into the hearts of a few of Iluriel’s elves.

Relations with the Outside World: The secrecy of the village’s location means that interlopers sometimes intrude with no idea that they are doing so, and unfortunately, the elves are not very forgiving of trespassers. Janar must intercede quickly anytime a human traveler happens into the area, or the other elves are apt to capture him and use magic to send him hundreds of miles away, so he will not lead anyone else in the area to their home.
