The Magpie Codex is a game of epic fantasy story telling. It is a game of brave adventures, of high defying acts of heroism, and of the sorts of deeds that the bards sing about for generations to come. In short, the Magpie Codex is a tool that allows you to explore your imagination and dig deep into the wellspring of creativity.
The Magpie Codex is much more than just a set of rules bound in a tome for playing a Fantasy RPG. It's a toolset for creating and designing your own worlds, adventures and campaigns quickly and easily, with as little prepration as possible but still allowing you to give the setting a vibrant and detailed backdrop.
This is because we believe that rules and rulings should be transperant, they should exist to help the players and the game masters create what they want and how they want to do it. Fantasy Role Playing Games are about exploring worlds unlike our own, creating stories of high adventure. The Magpie Codex lets you do this by giving you the tools to express yourself and a community to support it.
The game is licensed using the OGL. We want people to not only build with the Magpie Codex, but we want them to share it with the world.
