Based in Swindon, UK, Mongoose Publishing was founded in 2001 and within 6 months became the UKs largest publisher of roleplaying games. Initially concentrating on d20 based products, Mongoose Publishing's first book was the Slayers Guide to Hobgoblins, part of the Slayers Guide series of books. Subsequent product lines followed in rapid succession with the release of the Encyclopaeida Arcane, Travellers Tales, Quintessential and Cities of Fantasy series of books.
Mongoose has earned a reputation for producing quality licenced products to sit alongside their generic fantasy ranges and their first licenced book, The Judge Dredd roleplaying game, proved to be an instant hit. Further licenced products followed with roleplaying games based on Slaine, Babylon 5, Conan, Lone Wolf, Macho Women with Guns, Paranoia and Starship Troopers. One of Mongoose's more recent licenced roleplaying games, Runequest, was launched in the summer of 2006.
2008 saw the release of the all new Traveller RPG, with the supplements and support you can expect for any game from Mongoose Publishing. Based on the 'Classic Traveller' rules set, streamlined and updated for the 21st Century, the Traveller main rulebook will provide everything you need to explore the universes of science fiction settings. Starting with the Original Traveller Universe, Mongoose will quickly be expanding the settings available for this game to encompass Judge Dredd, Strontium Dog, Starship Troopers and many more.
Mongoose Publishing's miniatures games and roleplaying games continue to provide gamers with fantastic worlds in which to immerse themselves, and the company has become a recognised force in the world of hobby games.
