Sirani the Favored (the latter given to her by her fellow dhosari) is the sinapati (junior lieutenant) of the Hall Guard of House R’ll’aan. She earned this rank by defeating an assassin from a rival house trying to set a trap to kill house leaders. Unbeknownst to her masters, Sirani was able to do this with her paladin powers of detection and smiting. Thus she long longer has to sing often, and has avoided the dull duties of attending a bacca. Now, she has the opportunity to identify evil erkunae in the shadowed halls of G’sho’laa’n’rr, and discreetly eliminate them. Sirani knows she will be found out and punished eventually, and seeks to escape her island home, to find evil to destroy in exotic foreign lands.
